Only Today 1.47 - Enjoy Your Existence

We learned last time about the hard, but massively beneficial practice of working on uprooting our sense of entitlement. Asking ourselves the questions, “Do I deserve to be alive? Does God owe me life? Does God owe me a childhood and that was a certain way?” I think most of us, including myself, carry a deep sense that I was robbed of something that I should’ve had. The holy mystic is teaching us that we will have tremendous success and a very fulfilling life if we work to uproot this sense of entitlement.

How so? Because a person who feels that they are receiving tremendous gifts every day feels gratitude and appreciation which leads to a sense of happiness. As someone smarter than me once said, “it is not happiness that leads to gratitude, but rather gratitude that leads to happiness”. Therefore, this practice, even from a self interest point of view, will help us enjoy our existence all the days of our life. Come listen to this two minute audio recording to learn more.

Exercise: Do the “Is it true technique” for the statement “Does God owe me life?” Try it 10 times repeated a couple times today and write down your reflection on your experience.
